Exfoliating is an important step to a clearer, smoother, softer and brighter skin. Exfoliants slough away dead skin cells on the epidermis, revealing fresher skin. There are a few types of exfoliants, abrasive and non-abrasive and some are enzymatic or chemical exfoliants that work on breaking down the bonds of the dead layer of the epidermis.
